I arrived at Howard House early, in the pouring rain, after 3 days walking Hadrians Wall. There was a fabulous welcome, a log fire, tea and homemade cake - all just for me. Where else in the world do you get this care and attention.

This establishment is right on Hadrian's Wall, very convenient for walkers!! The owners, Liam and Lauren, have a fine establishment: clean, comfortable, tidy rooms created out of converted farm buildings.

Glorious scenery the spa hotel is set in wondrous grounds. A grand structured hotel well maintained and very clean. We were on a church day out and they presented us with a very ample meal well served.

I wish all B&B's could be as good this. Our walking group (13 adults) recently spent 2 great nights here. We almost took over the whole place and were made to feel very welcome. This large, truly family run, B&B gets top marks from me. From the start the atmosphere was relaxed and nothing was too much trouble.

This is a charming place to stay and as many others have said, it is ideally situated for those wanting to explore Hadrian's wall. It is also in a beautiful location and the house itself is so comfortable and the hosts so helpful and friendly you could easily come back to stay and explore the other wonderful places that Cumbria and Northumberland have to offer tourists.

Fantastic accommodation - a great bedroom with almost exclusive use of the lovely cosy sitting room and dining room! A wonderful friendly welcome from Lesley who made us feel completely at home. Everything you could ask for and the breakfasts were a treat. Excellent location for walking in Northumberland National Park and for exploring Hadrian's Wall with its many forts, milecastles and museums.
